# An AI Data Center Commissioning Cleaning Checklist for Texas GCs

Construction cleaning on an AI data center is not a final-week line item — it runs from progress through powder-puff alongside the commissioning agent. Here is the phase-by-phase cleaning checklist Segur Cleaning gives general contractors building AI halls in Texas.

## Cleaning is part of the commissioning sequence

On an AI data center, contamination control is not a punch-list item at the end — it is woven into the commissioning sequence the commissioning agent (CxA) and operator control. The GCs who deliver these halls on schedule bring the cleaning trade partner in early and keep it through turnover.

Segur Cleaning is a highly experienced AI data center construction cleaning company in Texas. This is the phase-by-phase checklist we run with general contractors building AI halls across the state.

## Phase 1 — Progress (trades still active)

- —Continuous debris management so the slab never accumulates construction dust
- —No dry sweeping anywhere on the data hall floor
- —Badged, background-checked crews coordinated with the GC schedule

## Phase 2 — Rough (after dry-in)

- —Full debris removal once the building envelope is closed
- —HEPA-filtered vacuum passes on overhead containment and cable trays
- —Cable trays detail-cleaned before any fiber pull

## Phase 3 — Final (pre-energization)

- —Cleanroom-grade detail of every horizontal and vertical surface
- —Static-controlled mopping of raised floors and sub-floor plenums
- —CDU and rear-door heat exchanger detail before chilled-water charge
- —Particulate sampling with the commissioning team before energization

## Phase 4 — Powder-puff (turnover)

- —Final detail of CRAC/CRAH units, CDUs, and IT-adjacent surfaces
- —Documented procedures with photo evidence at the handoff
- —Powder-puff turnover walk with the GC, owner, operator, and CxA

## Why GCs run this checklist with Segur

Three things let us hold this sequence on a hyperscale schedule: a 150+ dedicated team, documented procedures owners and CxAs can audit, and coverage across all four major Texas metros so we never mobilize from out of state. When a GC is bidding the next AI hall in DFW, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio, Segur Cleaning is on the trade-partner shortlist.
