Translate the construction schedule into a cleaning scope
Market capacity does not determine a project’s cleaning requirements. The drawings, installed equipment, owner specifications and commissioning plan do. Ask which spaces can be released, what work remains overhead, and how accepted areas will be protected from later trades.
Agree the access boundaries for raised floors, cable pathways and installed equipment. Confirm the required cleaning methods and who is responsible for verification before assigning labor or promising a turnover date.
Prepare for a phased handover
- Identify the rooms and equipment zones included in each cleaning phase.
- Confirm trade completion, safe access and approved cleaning materials.
- Agree who can re-enter cleaned areas and who owns any recleaning.
- Document inspection criteria, exceptions and the owner’s acceptance process.
